| Religion in Japan Japan is probably one of the most complex and interesting countries when it comes to religious beliefs. When asked, most Japanese people will often say the main religion of Japan is Buddhism or Shintoism, (Japan’s original religion). However, Shinto and Buddhism teachings today are so deeply woven into Japanese everyday life that it is sometimes difficult to distinguish "real" Japanese religion from everyday superstition or rituals. Furthermore, many Japanese are actually non-religious or have more amalgamated beliefs. |
