In addition to this The British School offers a wide range of co-curricular activities such as tuition in music, an outdoor education program, football, tennis and swimming to name a few. The aim of this wider offering is to introduce children to a variety of opportunities in the hope that they will experience and discover an activity, which will be of long lasting and consuming interest to them. The British School in Tokyo is a school of approximately 520 students. Class sizes are kept small to allow teachers to cater for individual differences. We are a community and a family school with strong pastoral care. Parents are encouraged to take part in the life of the school. We endeavor to keep parents informed through information evenings, weekly newsletters and student/parent/teacher conferences. We already have students representing over 7 nationalities despite the short history. HJIS is strongly committed to developing an international and multi-cultural perspective among our students and parents. As part of the international school community, we are setting standards of excellence in preparing our students to meet future challenges. We also provide a school bus service, ESL support and extra curricular activities for our students who are interested in these services. The Tokyo Shibuya campus is proud to be an active participant of a unique international exchange project which it is having with a Japanese elementary school in shared facilities located behind Omotesando Hills. As part of the project, the two schools hold international exchange activities so that the Japanese and our international student body have a better understanding of each other. The project also requires that we are unable to accept students whose both parents are of Japanese nationality. 4-20-12 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Admissions: Mr. Kenan Ulu www.horizon.ac.jp |
